In a metropolis of emerging jungle terror producers, Rawtek rises above the rest with the reggae-infused thumper “Rude Bwoy” on Dim Mak’s New Noise imprint. The track wastes no time, unleashing a drop in under a minute that runs roughshod over deep percussion patterns and booming synths. What sets “Rude Bwoy” apart is its breakdown, which incorporates offbeat bass guitar plucks and ragga vocal chants to devastating effect.
Rawtek has quickly made a name for themselves with their raucous #LIONSOUND, which “takes the raw organic sounds of indigenous cultures and unites them with the technical synthetic music of today’s world.” In almost no time, the LA duo have amassed over 10K followers on SoundCloud and 175K plays on their original track “BAM BAM.” In May 2015, they caught the attention of Borgore, who signed the Beatport Electro charting tune “Na’wal.” They then went on to collaborate with Funky Craig for the wild “Shaka Zulu” which appeared on jungle terror pioneer Wiwek’s Bad Monkeys EP, as well as release a landmark remix of Autoerotique and Max Styler’s massive banger “Badman” on Dim Mak.
