Fathom Events and Arts Alliance Bring the Iconic Band’s Sold-Out 50th Anniversary Concert from London’s Hyde Park to the U.S. For Special One-Night Event

DENVER – September 10, 2015 – On Thursday, October 8, 2015, Fathom Events and Arts Alliance will showcase one of rock’s most legendary and influential bands of all time with “The Who in Hyde Park” in cinemas nationwide at 7:30 p.m. local time. Recently recorded on June 26, 2015, the cinema event features The Who as they celebrate their 50th anniversary with a sold-out performance in front of a crowd of 65,000 at “British Summer Time” in London’s Hyde Park. The event features a definitive set list through the band’s entire career from classic albums such as Who’s Next, Tommy, Quadrophenia, My Generation and Live At Leeds up to the present day. In addition to the legendary concert, the event also features exclusive interview footage with The Who’s Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey, plus Iggy Pop, Robert Plant, Johnny Marr and more. Cinema audiences will also enjoy a special feature on the West London landmarks and familiar haunts of the band in the 1960s.

Tickets for “The Who in Hyde Park” can be purchased online by visiting www.FathomEvents.com or at participating theater box offices. Fans throughout the U.S. will be able to enjoy the event in more than 360 movie theaters through Fathom’s Digital Broadcast Network. For a complete list of theater locations visit the Fathom Events website (theaters and participants are subject to change).

Pete Townshend on playing Hyde Park, “It’s a good gig. You draw from all over the country, but a London crowd is always a good crowd. It’s a Royal Park so thank you, your majesty; you can’t play it without her permission.”

Since forming in 1964, The Who have sold over 100 million records to date and have become the most famous proponents of Mod culture. Described by critics as “a stirring, moving and memorable farewell” and “as thrilling as you could hope for,” The Who’s final world tour is one not to be missed. Joining Daltrey and Townshend onstage for this exciting performance are Simon Townshend (guitar, mandolin, backing vocals), Pino Palladino (bass), Zak Starkey (drums), John Corey (keyboards, backing vocals), Loren Gold (keyboards, backing vocals) and Frank Simes (musical director, keyboards, backing vocals, assorted instruments). This performance comes as The Who prepares to launch the second leg of their “The Who Hits 50!” North American tour, which kicks off in the middle of September and concludes in mid-December.

John Rubey, Fathom Events CEO, said, “This October, moviegoers will get a special opportunity to experience a historic, show-stopping performance from one of the most iconic bands in music history. Along with our partners at Arts Alliance, we are thrilled to bring The Who’s 50-year celebration to fans across the U.S.”
