Fathom Events, ELEVEN ARTS and LEVEL-5 Bring the First English-Language Dubbed YO-KAI WATCH Film to the Big Screen on Saturday, October 15

DENVER – September 20, 2016 – “Watch out!” as Yo-kai invade U.S. movie theaters when Fathom Events, ELEVEN ARTS and LEVEL-5 present “YO-KAI WATCH: THE MOVIE EVENT” on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. local time. This first English-language dubbed theatrical presentation brings back the voice actors from the beloved Disney XD TV series, reprising their acclaimed roles as Nate, Jibanyan, Whisper and more; plus, the film introduces new characters, including an all-new Yo-kai named Hovernyan, a floating blue cat who is Nathaniel’s heroic companion. This exclusive event also features a never-before-seen sneak peek of the new episode of YO-KAI WATCH. Fans who attend “YO-KAI WATCH: THE MOVIE EVENT” will receive an exclusive YO-MOTION YO-KAI WATCH Hovernyan Medal on a first come, first served basis. Following the movie theater event, fans can continue to participate in Yo-Kai Watch Day activities by going to their nearest GameStop.

Tickets for “YO-KAI WATCH: THE MOVIE EVENT” can be purchased online by visiting www.FathomEvents.com or at participating theater box offices. Fans throughout the U.S will be able to enjoy the event in nearly 300 select movie theaters through Fathom’s Digital Broadcast Network. For a complete list of theater locations, visit the Fathom Events website (theaters and participants are subject to change).

The film, which features the voice talent of the hit Disney XD show, follows Nate Adams and his Yo-kai friends, Whisper and Jibanyan, as they’re transported to the past to help Nate’s grandfather, Nathaniel, battle evil Yo-kai and invent the Yo-kai Watch. Created and developed by LEVEL-5, YO-KAI WATCH is a fantasy role-playing game and Anime series which depicts a world where “Yo-kai” (supernatural beings only seen by using a special device, the Yo-kai Watch, responsible for everyone’s daily annoyances) co-exist with humans and affect their day-to-day lives.

YO-KAI WATCH’s popularity soared as the TV anime based on the game began broadcasting across six TV Tokyo-affiliated networks in 2014. The original game was released in North America by Nintendo in November of 2015. The property debuted in the U.S. in 2015 and includes a TV series on Disney XD, a series of games for the Nintendo 3DS, a Hasbro toy line and apps available for iOS and Android systems. In its initial release in Japan, YO-KAI WATCH: THE MOVIE was so popular that it set a box office record for advance ticket sales and was the highest-grossing Japanese film in 2015.

“Fathom Events is proud to, once again, present the very best animated entertainment from Japan in U.S. movie theaters,” said Fathom Events CEO John Rubey. “We are pleased to continue our relationship with ELEVEN ARTS and to partner for the first time with LEVEL-5 to bring fans this all-time favorite.”
