Michael Wilson recently introduced renowned Toshiko Mori to Sarasota’s architectural community via Center for Architecture’s program

SARASOTA, Fla., – Williams Parker’s (www.williamsparker.com) Michael Wilson recently had the honor of introducing eminent architect Toshiko Mori at the Center for Architecture’s monthly speaking engagement.

“I was excited at the opportunity to bring attention to Ms. Mori’s lecture and rally support for the Center for Architecture,” commented Wilson. “Ms. Mori’s ‘Dialogue in Details’ exhibit was innovative and engaging. This exhibit was first presented at the Biennale di Venezia in Venice, Italy and we are thrilled to welcome it, and its esteemed curator Ms. Mori, to Sarasota.”

Toshiko Mori is the Hubbard Professor in Architecture at Harvard University Graduate School of Design and was chair of the Department from 2002 to 2008. She is principal of Toshiko Mori Architect, which she established in 1981 in New York City. In 2009, she established a think tank, VisionArc, which connects local and global issues to mobilize design initiatives for a more sustainable future. She has designed public and private buildings and residences in New York, Florida, Maine, Massachusetts, Mongolia and Taiwan. Mori’s strong research-based approach to design has been commended in invitations to lectures and conferences around the world.

“Williams Parker has been a longtime supporter of civic, art, and cultural initiatives in Sarasota and we were proud to continue this tradition by supporting the Center for Architecture and their esteemed guest, Toshiko Mori,” commented Ric Gregoria, president of Williams Parker. “We encourage the community to come visit this stunning and unique exhibit.”

The “Dialogue in Details” exhibit will be on display in the Don Chapell Gallery at the Center for Architecture from October 1 to December 15.  For more information about the Center for Architecture, please visit their website: http://cfasrq.org/
