Visit Sarasota County opens new Visitor Information Center

SARASOTA, FL– (November 30, 2015)-Visit Sarasota County (VSC) will open the doors to its new Visitor Information Center at 1710 Main Street in downtown Sarasota on Thursday, December 3, 2015. This location replaces its previous location at 14 N. Lemon Avenue. Located in the space of the former Firestone Tire center in the heart of downtown on Main Street, the building has been renovated to welcome visitors. The location offers ample visitor parking and visibility for tourists coming to Sarasota County seeking visitor information.

Hours for the Visitors Center will remain the same. Monday – Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Closed Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day.

The Visitors Center at the Mall, located on the University Parkway exit off Interstate 75, will continue to operate. VSC will also continue operating its mobile visitor information vehicle. This vehicle tours the entire County and is located at key events and in key areas to provide visitors with information.

Additionally, VSC is also working with the Venice Area Chamber of Commerce, Siesta Key Beach Ambassadors, Longboat Key Chamber as well as Downtown Venice Ambassadors to ensure visitors have information about Sarasota County. VSC hopes to continue expand partnerships with local Chambers of Commerce in providing visitor services.
