The pioneering U.K. duo, composed of Karl Hyde and Rick Smith, will kick off a series of U.S. dates on Wednesday, April 13, with a show at the Fox Theater in Pomona, CA. The run includes intimate shows at the historic Fox Theater in Oakland, CA (April 16) and New York City’s Terminal 5 (April 20). Underworld, which played the inaugural Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in 1999, returns to the festival with performances on April 15 and April 22. See below for U.S. itinerary or visit underworldlive.com for additional information.

The Telegraph found Underworld “more intoxicating than ever” at a recent sold-out show at London’s Roundhouse. The band will headline Glastonbury and perform at numerous other festivals this summer.

Barbara Barbara, we face a shining future (Astralwerks) – the band’s new album – debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart. SPIN named it Album of the Week, hailing Underworld aspositively radiant.” Q, MOJO and The Guardian each awarded the album four stars and the Los Angeles Times noted, “the group proves that its late-career live ferocity is still matched by its sonic inventiveness and resonant songwriting…[the album] stacks up with their best work.” “[Underworld] hit all the right pop pleasure points,” said Entertainment Weekly, which included the track “Ova Nova” in a recent “Best Songs of the Week” column.
The video for “If Rah,” another track from the album, recently premiered on Pitchfork. Directed by longtime collaborator Tomato, the clip features dancer Emma Farnell-Watson and was choreographed by Carys Station / MetlingProject. View the “If Rah” video HERE.

About Underworld:
Underworld – the British duo Karl Hyde and Rick Smith – has been one of the most influential electronic acts in the world for more than 20 years. In that time, their music has transcended club dance floors and provided soundtracks to everything from iconic movies (including Trainspotting, the closing sequence of which was cut to the B-side “Born Slippy (Nuxx)”) to the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games (for which they were handpicked as musical directors).
