TWITTER REVEAL THE MOST TWEETED ABOUT GLASTONBURY PYRAMID STAGE PERFORMANCES OF ALL TIME

As the British summer kicks off and the inevitable swarm of rainclouds begin to descend upon Worthy Farm, Twitter have taken the opportunity to reflect on the biggest moments that have made #Glastonbury the legendary musical institution that it is.

Whether it’s Patti Smith bringing the Dalai Lama (@DalaiLama) on stage, Florence & The Machine (@flo_tweet)  stepping in for Foo Fighters (@foofighters) or Beyoncé (@Beyonce) owning the #PyramidStage, the festival has produced some truly memorable moments for musical history.

Twitter have compiled a top 10 list of those key moments, delving into whose performances caused the biggest stir and which ones were the most Tweeted about at the time.

Please see the full list below:

Surprising to see that global powerhouses like Coldplay (@coldplay)  can’t even get a look in to the top 10, while cult heroes Libertines (@libertines)   are saddled firmly at number 6, ahead of musical legends like Metallica (@Metallica)  and Lionel Richie (@LionelRichie). Good to know that this is one music list that critics and panels can’t tamper with – power to the people!
