Binge on the first nine episodes of Those Who Can’t and catch up on all the antics that happened at Smoot High in advance of the season one finale airing Thursday, April 14.
Those Who Can’t is truTV’s first foray into full-length scripted comedy. The half-hour comedy follows three trouble-making teachers, played by show creators Adam Cayton-Holland, Andrew Orvedahl and Ben Roy of the Denver-based comedy troupe The Grawlix. More inept than the kids they teach, they’re out to beat the system as they struggle to survive each day on their own terms. Joining them is Maria Thayer (Eagleheart) the school librarian with an insuppressible passion for life.
Guest stars this season included Sarah Michelle Gellar (The Crazy Ones), Susie Essman (Curb Your Enthusiasm), T.J. Miller (Silicon Valley), Mary Lynn Rajskub (24), Peter Stormare (Fargo, The Big Lebowski) and Michael Madsen (Reservoir Dogs). Dean Lorey (Arrested Development) is the show runner and an executive producer.

In each episode, host Damien Lemon (Not Exactly News) sends three comics into a battle of high stakes comedic gameplay. With points doled out based on the audience’s applause, it’s all about one-upmanship as competitors attempt to land massive comedy blows and whip the rowdy crowd into a frenzy of raucous laughter. Through it all, the comedians throw roast-like, rapid-fire jabs at each other to knock their opponents off balance.
