A WINNIPEG vs. HAMILTON Comedy Battle
Toronto Comedy All-Stars presents YOUR HOOD’S A JOKE, a series of knock-down drag-out comedy battles between uproarious communities. Local comedians duke it out with their hilarity at Comedy Bar, the ‘Thunderdome of Comedy’. YOUR HOOD’S A JOKE promises to be a legendary brawl of epic proportions with comedic titans teaming up and squaring off in honour of their respective hoods.
On March 21, Your Hood’s A Joke presents a special National battle featuring comedians originally hailing from two hilarious cities in Canada, WINNIPEG vs. HAMILTON. The WINNIPEG WIND CHILL team consisting of Kenny Robinson (All Black Comedy Special), Garrett Jamieson (opener for Reggie Watts) and Camille Cote (NXNE), will go head-to-head against the HAMILTON HAMMERED SHARKS team; represented by Ashley Moffatt (Yuk Yuks), Gerry Hall (Funny 820 AM Comedy Radio) and Calwyn Shurgold (The Shurgold Show) as they fight for comedic domination. Will comedians from the Mosquito Capital of Canada be victorious? Or will comedians hailing from the same hood as Martin Short and Eugene Levy hammer the competition into submission?
Comedian and founder of Toronto Comedy All-Stars, Danish Anwar will host this battle for the right to be called the funniest of all the land, until the next battle! Born and raised in Moscow, Anwar is the only Russian-Born- Indian-Bengali-Canadian-Comic (that we know of!). An accomplished stand-up comedian, Anwar is trilingual and was a finalist in JFL42’s Funniest Torontonian Award.
Toronto Comedy All-Stars is dedicated to promoting the Toronto comedy community and providing opportunities for local talent to perform across Ontario. Along with year-round Toronto comedy events, Toronto Comedy All-Stars regularly produce hit comedy showcases in Hamilton, Ottawa, London and Guelph.
