More than 35 self-published authors and illustrators will showcase recent works.

(Sarasota, FL) Area authors and illustrators will meet their fans at the third annual Sarasota Book Fair, Oct. 25, 2014, 10 a.m.-3 p.m., at Art Center Sarasota, 707 N. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota. This literary festival showcases regionally based, self-published authors and illustrators of adults’ and children’s books. The fair is being run in collaboration with ABCBooks4Children&Adults, Inc., a not-for-profit organization with members from Tampa to Ft Myers. Readers of all ages are invited to meet the talents behind the books, and watch illustrators at work. Admission is free. For more information about this event, call 941-365-2032 or visit www.artsarasota.org.

According to event coordinator Brenda Spalding, the upcoming book fair will showcase 35 authors and illustrators, some of whom are members of Peace River Writers, Authors Connection, Gulf Coast Writers, Florida Writers Association and ABCBooks4Children&Adults, Inc. In addition, book illustrators, including Jacqueline Paske Gill, and Lucy Tobias, will demonstrate their talents throughout the day.

What genre of books can audiences expect?

“We’ll have something for almost every taste,” says Spalding. “The festival will showcase history, mystery, thriller, romance, and travel books. We’ll also have children’s picture books and books for young adults—so bring the whole family! The authors will be pleased to sign a copy of their book for you, making it even more of a special experience.”

About Art Center Sarasota

Art Center Sarasota was the first arts and cultural institution in Sarasota. It was founded in 1926 as the “Sarasota Art Association” by Marcia Rader, the art supervisor for the Sarasota County schools district. In the early years, the group met monthly and sponsored exhibits in rented facilities. The Association was incorporated as a not-for-profit organization in 1943 and has been in its current location in the Sarasota Bayfront Cultural District since 1949. Art Center Sarasota is now a membership-based organization that offers curated and juried exhibitions, adult and youth education programs, outreach initiatives for underserved youth, and culturally related public programming. Art Center Sarasota’s mission is to provide Sarasota with opportunities for creative expression and art appreciation through art education, exhibitions and cultural programs.
