NEW YORK, NY (June 26, 2017) – Los Angeles alternative rock band The Wrecks will be on the road this summer in support of their We Are The Wrecks EP joining All Time Low, SWMRS, Night Riots and Waterparks for “The Young Renegades Tour.” The 29-date tour begins June 30 in Houston, TX and includes a stop at Central Park SummerStage in New York on July 31.   “We’re so stoked that All Time Low asked us to come out with them this summer,” said the band “and we’re looking forward to playing stages that size for the first time. We can’t wait to get back out on the road again, as we’ve been mostly cramped inside writing new material and working on our set for the past few months. It’s refreshing to see such a good mix of genres in the lineup, as well. We’re gonna bring it 110% every night and we’re confident the crowds will, too.”

The Wrecks, three-song EP, We Are The Wrecks, listen HERE, features “Favorite Liar,” a song that caught the attention of Jeff Reagan at SiriusXM’s Alt Nation and reached top #5 on their Alt-18 countdown for weeks.   It’s currently top 40 at Alternative Radio and has almost 5.5 Million streams on Spotify; The live video has garnered almost 400,000 views on YouTube.  Watch it HEREAlternative Press recently premiered the official video, watch it HERE.  The band told the magazine, “We shot this music video before we got signed.  We had very little money, and only a few hours to spare over the course of two days while on tour. When we got signed we never thought this would see the light of day, but here we are. We didn’t want to do a typical performance video, so we went the other direction. Maybe a little too far. Here’s four-and-a-half minutes of your life you will never get back.”

The Wrecks recorded their debut EP on a whim when they heard the news that a friend had been granted access to a professional recording studio for just a few days. With zero budget, limited recording experience, and less than a week as a band under their belts, the group set out to write and record the best songs that they could in three days.  A few sleepless nights and several cases of Red Bull later, the EP was cut. Little did the band know, they were not even allowed to be in the studio that week.  As the owner’s ex-wife was on her way to the studio, they were told they had just minutes to leave without a trace.  The band quickly cleaned every bit of evidence from the computer, every crumb of Dominoes from the couch, and they were off with their entire EP on a hard drive in a backpack.

Heavily influenced by groups such as The Pixies, The Strokes, Weezer, and Vampire Weekend, this 5-piece isn’t afraid to blend undeniably catchy choruses, with lyrics and vocals that have an underlying substance and a certain quirk that give them their young, signature sound. They have played the Alt Nation Tour with The Hunna, Night Riots, and Shelter and have played dates with Nothing But Thieves. The Wrecks are Nick Anderson (Vocals), Aaron Kelley (Bass), Nick Schmidt (Guitar), Westen Weiss (Guitar), and Billy Nally (Drums).
