FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
June 10, 2014 Sarasota, Fla.
Neighborhood pub The Shamrock (2257 Ringling Blvd.) in downtown Sarasota is proud to announce the return of their annual Summer Chef Jam from 8 to 10 p.m. every Monday through August 11. For just $20, guests can enjoy bottomless pints of a variety of Florida craft beers paired with small plates from a new local chef each week.
Ri Quisimo food truck will provide the space for chefs including James Beard Award nominee Steve Phelps of Indigenous as well as James Baselici from Louies Modern (full schedule below). There will also be three taps each Monday from Florida’s Swamp Head Brewery and another featured local brew selected to pair with each chef’s creation. Lastly, DJ Andy Viohl will be there each week to provide great music.
“This year we’ve changed a lot of little things to make the experience even more enjoyable: more seating, more counter space to enjoy your meals and more space for our DJ,” said Derek Anderson, owner of the Shamrock. “I’m really looking forward to seeing the summer dishes these chefs have to offer alongside all the amazing local craft beers we’re serving!”
The kickoff on Mon., June 16 will feature Chef Kyle Harrington from Libby’s Cafe + Bar preparing Korean Food Truck Sticky Ribs, Bulgogi Tacos and Karubi Pork Gyoza paired with St. Petersberg-based Green Bench Brewing Co.’s Saison de Blanc Vert.

More about the Shamrock
The pub for the people! Founded as Churchill’s in 1975, the Shamrock has been under new ownership since 2007, pursuing a vision for the space as a neighborhood pub first and a beer bar second. The 750-square-foot corner bar is now the spot in Sarasota for St. Patrick’s Day, special release beer events, live music and more, with a friendly staff of smart beer-tenders.
The Shamrock’s rotating selection of more than 100 craft beers is available by the bottle, can or draft, and they even offer specialty sodas and fresh wines via cruvinet. The Shamrock is smoke-free, though the back patio is a comfortable option for smokers, and free parking is always available in the front and back of the bar.
Specials include Beer Maniac Mondays and Craft Draft Happy Hour every day until 8 p.m. as well as a live music from some of the best local, regional and national indie bands on many weekends. The Shamrock will also open early at 11 a.m. daily during the 2014 World Cup and other special events.
