The Royal Opera House is delighted to announce the three music staff who will join the Jette Parker Young Artists Programme in September, selected from 68 applicants from 20 countries.

British ballet conductor Matthew Scott Rogers

 

The audition process for the selection of the Jette Parker Young Artists music staff began in October 2015. Fourteen opera conductors and/or répétiteurs were selected for the first of two rounds, with five progressing to the second round. The panel consisted of Antonio Pappano, Music Director of The Royal Opera, David Gowland, Artistic Director of the Jette Parker Young Artists Programme, David Syrus, Head of Music for The Royal Opera, Mark Packwood, senior music staff member for The Royal Opera and Siri Fischer Hansen, Administrator of the Jette Parker Young Artists Programme.  Seven ballet conductors and pianists were auditioned for The Royal Ballet, with a panel consisting of Koen Kessels, Music Director of The Royal Ballet, Robert Clark, Head of Music for The Royal Ballet and David Gowland.
