TEXAS RANGERS TO WEAR 1986 ROAD UNIFORMS

ON JULY 20 AND AUGUST 6

Arlington, Texas—The Texas Rangers will wear their road uniforms from the 1986 season for two upcoming games, Wednesday, July 20 at the Los Angeles Angels and Saturday, August 6 at the Houston Astros.

The club changed its road uniform for 1986 to all gray with the blue block RANGERS lettering on the front and name and number on the back. The pants are solid gray and the cap is blue with a red T.

This marks the 30th anniversary of the 1986 Rangers club that won 25 more games than in 1985 (62-99), finishing at 87-75 in second place in the A.L. West Division, 5.0 games behind the California Angels.

Eight Major League clubs will Turn Back the Clock with iconic throwback uniforms on Wednesday, July 20 to celebrate this weekend’s Baseball Hall of Fame inductions, including the Rangers and Angels, who will wear 1970’s home uniforms on Wednesday. Turn Back the Clock is sponsored by Majestic and New Era during nationally televised games on ESPN and MLB Network on Wednesday night.

The Rangers and Astros will both be wearing 1986 uniforms for the August 6 game at Minute Maid Park.

Texas Rangers replica 1986 road jerseys will be available for sale at texasrangers.com/shop later this week.
