Dog Pull Race Takes Place at Tahoe Donner Downhill Ski Area

Truckee, Calif. (March 3, 2016) – As part of North Lake Tahoe’s SnowFest 2016, the 12th annual I-Did-A-Run event returns to Tahoe Donner on March 13 at the Tahoe Donner Downhill Ski Area. This event will take place rain or shine, and it’s the chance every dog dreams of – a day to meet lots of new friends and to show off their running skills in the spotlight.

Dogs of all shapes and sizes will compete in this entertaining, timed dog pull race. The event pits dog against dog in a race against the clock, pulling sleds over a snow-covered course. Prizes are awarded to the speediest finishers among four weight divisions.

Registration takes place at 12 p.m. the day of the event and the race starts promptly at 1 p.m. Entry per dog is $20 and includes a goody bag. Participants and spectators will have the opportunity to win great prizes through a raffle with proceeds benefitting the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe. Over 30 prizes are up for grabs with more to be added, including a one night stay at the Portola Inn in Monterey, Calif., cross country ski passes to Royal Gorge, rounds of golf to Ponderosa Golf Course, gift certificates to local retailers and restaurants, and more. Every raffle ticket purchased is a direct donation to Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe. Last year the event raised $2,775. Raffle tickets are just $1 each; those who buy five raffle tickets will receive a sixth ticket for free. Winners do not need to be present in order to win. Raffle tickets may be purchased in advance through March 12 at Member Services, located within Tahoe Donner at Northwoods Clubhouse. Additional raffle tickets may be purchased at the event, prior to the drawing.
