Tahoe Donner Takes Home “Commercial” Category Win in Fourth of July Parade
Truckee, Calif. (July 8, 2016) – Every year, the team at Tahoe Donner proudly participates in the Truckee Fourth of July Parade as both a float participant and a loyal sponsor. This year’s parade theme was “base camp for a big life,” in celebration of the Town of Truckee’s new branding and town slogan.
Embracing this theme, the Tahoe Donner team created the Alder Creek Adventure Center float, a float representing Tahoe Donner’s newest state-of-the-art-facility that opened in November 2015 and encompasses the very definition of “base camp for a big life.” The center serves as home to cross country skiing, snowshoeing, fat biking, mountain biking, hiking, horseback riding, pony rides, kids camps, dining and shopping, and also offers a variety of year round events.
“This year marks Tahoe Donner’s 45th anniversary and since its inception, we’ve been a base camp for fun and adventure,” said Robb Etnyre, general manager of Tahoe Donner Association. “I’m proud our team was able to showcase that with our Alder Creek Adventure Center float—it’s our newest facility and a continued celebration of all Tahoe Donner strives to offer our membership and the public.”
The Alder Creek Adventure Center float took home the win in the “commercial” category. A total of 45 floats were considered by the judges and six floats won. Categories included best in show, classic auto, commercial, non-profit, open, and youth group. The Tahoe Donner team will be back in the parade again next year, striving for another win. Until then, individuals are encouraged to visit the Alder Creek Adventure Center in person to see for themselves what all the talk is about.
