Triple Event on Bridge Street

Sunday November 15th is a big day on a little street. Next Sunday Historic Bridge Street will have the last day of the Public Art Show, Turtles, and the first day of the annual Bridge Street Market. The season opener for the Market also features a Taste of Bridge Street with 5 local establishments serving up their most popular menu items. In addition to the 25+ market vendors, there’s also 7 other stops on the street comprising an Art Walk 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Tying these happenings together is artsHOP, the 9th annual celebration of arts and culture on Anna Maria Island. Hoppers can experience the art of rock & roll with Ted Stevens & the Doo Shots, the art of touch with chair massage, and the art of flavor with fresh produce and prepared foods. Among the Market vendors for the season kickoff are Rhonda K, native Florida Folk Artist, Nick Donatelli, beach and nature photographer, and Mary Roff, jewelry artisan. The new Market manager, Cindy Thompson, is well-known for working with area children as well as organizing island festivals. Sunday Markets run 10-3 through the end of April.

For the Taste event, A.M.O.B, the new incarnation of John Horne’s Anna Maria Oyster Bar slated to open next month at the Bradenton Beach City Pier, will dish it out along side the Bridge Tender, Blue Marlin, Back Alley with Miller’s Dutch Kitchen pies and Bridge Street Bistro. Taste of Bridge Street will happen for just two hours, 12-2, right at the Market, for only $10 to try them all.

Getting there: Call # 855-727-RIDE (7433) to arrange shuttle transportation with the all new Adventure Away Shuttle, take the free island trolley or find car parking right on and near Bridge Street, at City Hall/Tingley Library and just south of Bridge Street at the beach.
