On Thursday, August 6 during the 75th Annual Sturgis® Motorcycle Rally™, Harley-Davidson will present the HOOLIGAN DIRT DASH in association with The Speed Merchant at the historic Sturgis Fairgrounds half-mile dirt track (1802 Ballpark Rd. Sturgis, SD 57785).

The HOOLIGAN DIRT DASH is a back-to-the-basics race featuring street legal Harleys. Spectators will witness racers riding Sportsters and Dynas as they battle it out on the dirt celebrating Sturgis’ racing history. Advance tickets are discounted and available online at www.SturgisCityPark.com for only $20 for General Admission and $25 for Grand Stand Seats. Gates will open at 6:00 pm with a fun-filled night of racing and entertainment starting at 7pm.

What has grown to become the Sturgis® Motorcycle Rally™ began back in 1938 with a Pappy Hoel half-mile race. “This style of racing brings Harley-Davidson racing back to its roots,” says Fonz, The Speed Merchant. “Just average Joes who wanna go fast on American made machines.” “This is just the type of event that reminds us why we love motorcycles,” adds Roland Sands of Roland Sands Design.

HOOLIGAN DIRT DASH will feature a night of racing including Mark Atkins from Rusty Butcher, battling it out on the historic dirt track with Buddy Suttle and Logan Lackey from UNKNOWN IndustriesAaron Guardado and Shaun Guardado of Suicide Machine Company, Hot Bike Magazine online editor Ed Subias, as well as Chris Wiggins, Fonz, Taylor and Hunter from The Speed Merchant and racers representing various companies such as Roland Sands DesignSeeSee Motorcycles, Kraus Motor Company, Burly Brand, Lyndall Brakes, Simpson Motorcycle Helmets, San Diego Customs, Biltwell, Monster Energy Drink, and more.

“There is nothing like doing 100 mph around the dirt track on a used Sportster that you bolted a few parts on and put together in a week,” adds Chris Wiggins, The Speed Merchant.

The celebration and night of racing is not only limited to “Hooligan” street legal Harleys; there will also be a Kids 50cc Dirt Bike race featuring Sturgis and Black Hills area residents in addition to grudge match dirt drags, slow races and more!

“I’m excited to back it in on the 1/2 mile in Sturgis on my Hooligan Harley,” notes Logan Lackey of UNKNOWN Industries. Team Rusty Butcher adds, “We can’t wait to hit the Sturgis 1/2 mile track and showcase what we can do on these 500lb Sportsters.”

For the HOOLIGAN DIRT DASH on Thursday, August 6 at Sturgis Fairgrounds half-mile dirt track (1802 Ballpark Rd. Sturgis, SD 57785), advance tickets are available now:
