Stockholm duo State of Sound releases today their video for “Wake Up Where You Are” via Sony Music Sweden/RCA Records. The video, which follows State of Sound members Viktor Norén and Joakim Andren around Nevada, was directed by Ea Czyz and produced by Danger Österlin. Click here to watch the video.
“Wake Up Where You Are” currently has over 38 million streams on Spotify alone and is currently included on the platform’s “Chill Hits” playlist and was previously listed on the “Today’s Top Hits” playlist. The single has also reached the top 100 on Spotify in 17 countries and the top 200 in 21 countries. The single is available at all digital service providers.
State of Sound members Viktor Norén and Joakim Andren met and became friends immediately in 2010 at a tequila party in their home of Stockholm, Sweden. With Viktor’s background in the bands Sugarplum Fairy and Viktor & The Blood and solo adventure Viktorious and Joakim’s past as tour musician and songwriter, it was a musical match made in heaven. After several years of bonding over music, Viktor and Joakim formed a vision and framework for their own musical project, which they named State of Sound. Their debut single “Higher Love” was released in January 2016 and the song quickly climbed the charts and was Gold certified in Sweden and now has over 13 million streams. Their second single “Wake Up Where You Are” has been a great success, leading to their EP Wake Up Where You Are (Remixes), which includes an acoustic version of the track.
