EAST SIDE OF LOVE–released 11/6 via Teletone Records in the U.S. and on Germany’s Blue Rose Records in Europe–premiered exclusively with YAHOO! MUSIC and marks the revered band’s sixth studio album and their first in three years. SHURMAN frontman Aaron Beavers gave an inside look into the album’s songs with ELMORE MAGAZINE which can be read here. “This collection of lyrics and music is by far the most personal offering I have ever had in my 15 years in Shurman,” says Beavers. “There was a time that I was unsure if it would ever be released but the songs begged to be heard…who was I to stand in the way?”

EAST SIDE OF LOVE retains SHURMAN‘s trademark combination of high-energy roots rock and country soul, while possessing an expanded dimension due to the mixture of harrowing pain and unmatched creative joy they experienced since we last heard from them. You can click here to watch a trailer about the album andlisten to the album’s title track which premiered with ALLACCESS.COM last month here.

SHURMANAaron Beavers (guitar, vocals) Mike Therieau (bass, vocals), Harley Husbands (lead guitar) and Clint Short (drums)–deliver 11 heartfelt songs on EAST SIDE OF LOVE telling the story of losing a relationship, while actually getting back a band. Produced by Beavers at Austin’s storied Cedar Creek Studios, the album navigates the musical spectrum from it’s anthemic set-opening title track, to the gritty soul of “You Don’t Have To Love Me,” through the heart-wrenching, acoustic ballad “I Don’t Know Why” before wrapping with the bright and hopeful album closer, “Time To Say Goodbye.” The album bears traces of SHURMAN‘s reputation for relentless live energy and yet comes across as clear-eyed and genuine as anything in the band’s 15-year career.

PRAISE FOR EAST SIDE OF LOVE:

“We’re sure that all will agree the new set bears traces of Shuman’s reputation for relentless live energy and yet comes across as clear-eyed and genuine as anything in the band’s 15-year career.”

–Wendy Geller, YAHOO.COM, November 5, 2015

“It seems fair to say that the common thread that ties East Side of Love (available November 6) together as a cohesive body of work is the weaving of the push-pull of doubt and determination, right and wrong, good and bad, love and loss, ruin and redemption. All play an integral part in the tapestry that is life and art, and in Beavers’ hands and heart, served as muse for the making of his group’s newest musical mosaic.”

–Jim Villanueva, ALLACCESS.COM, October 20, 2015

“…the band is back and as strong as ever… their most introspective, mature album to date.”

ELMOREMAGAZINE.COM, November 5, 2015

“East Side Of Love,’ recorded locally at Cedar Creek Studios, finds the band in its trademark rock-and-twang form on songs that should be welcomed by their longtime fans, even as Beavers leans toward a more confessional songwriting approach.”

–Peter Blackstock, AUSTIN360.COM, November 6, 2015
