Electronic music artist SEVEN LIONS has never had a problem breaking rules and transcending musical boundaries to satisfy his creative vision. Today (August 14), Casablanca Records has released his newest single “Falling Away” featuring Canadian pop sensation LIGHTS. “Falling Away” is the first of several singles SEVEN LIONS will release in the coming months leading up to a brand new EP on Casablanca later this fall/winter.

“Falling Away” made its debut on Billboard.com yesterday, August 13. Wrote Matt Medved, “When Seven Lions dropped his breakthrough Days to ComeEP on Skrillex’s OWSLA in 2012, it was clear that his talent could fit any format.  The Santa Barbara native — born Jeff Montalvo — advanced a refreshing brand of melodic dubstep that was oft-imitated but seldom equaled, marked by ethereal melodies and lush, layered synth leads. His sound continued to evolve by incorporating choice house elements and arrangements on last year’s excellent Worlds Apart EP and March’s The Throes of Winter EP.   While Montalvo again trades the broken beats for four-to-the-floor on ‘Falling Away,’ the track boasts the same songwriting sensibility and careful attention to atmospheric detail that has consistently set Seven Lions’ productions apart from his peers’. In a testament to his keen engineer’s ear, Canadian singer Lights’ coos and crescendos fit seamlessly within the track’s aural tapestry.”
Putting sheer technical production prowess to work in soulful, deep, hybridized creations all distinctly his own, the multi-talented musician is single-handedly changing the sonic landscape for future generations.  Other notable releases from SEVEN LIONS include his debut EP Days to Come (OWSLA) which reached #2 on the iTunes Dance chart and previous Casablanca EPs Worlds Apartwhich debuted #1 on iTunes Dance and contained several notable features including Ellie Goulding (“Don’t Leave”) and Myon & Shane 54 featuring Tove Lo (“Strangers”) and The Throes of Winter, released earlier this year, which yielded four songs rife with big room moments and expansive soundscapes.
