Sarasota Musica Viva (www.sarasotamusicaviva.org) opens their season with “Memorable Melodies” on Sunday, October 9th at 5:30 PM at Manatee Performing Arts Center in Bradenton, Florida as part of the “Sunset Classics” concert series.

“Memorable Melodies” is an enjoyable program of classical favorites presented in an intimate and relaxed atmosphere in which memorable quips about each piece are discussed during the performance. Diverse and fun for all!

This concert will include many recognizable  and beloved “classical” melodies so often heard in films, television and media. Performers include flutist and Artistic Director, Linda Bento-Rei (www.lindabento-rei.com) along with the concert master of the Venice Symphony, violinist Michael Cloutier and Venice Symphony cellist, Ann Alton.

The program is one hour in length and in the tradition of “Chamber Music”, meaning that the musicians will speak about each piece and engage in conversation with the audience in an intimate and relaxed atmosphere. The concert will take place in the lobby of the Performing Arts Center and will be casual in nature. This program is well suited as an introduction to this setting and genre for audiences who haven’t yet experienced traditional live chamber music. Children are welcome and encouraged to attend. There will be a meet and greet with the musicians immediately following the concert.

Tickets are available in advance and at the door at the Manatee Performing Arts Center or on line at:
