Sarasota Musica Viva Announces Exciting Third Season of Diverse Chamber Music Concerts!

SARASOTA, FL, September 20, 2017 – Sarasota Musica Viva, southwest Florida’s non-profit chamber music organization is pleased to announce their upcoming 2017-2018 season , the organization’s third full season of diverse chamber music concerts in and around the Sarasota area. For their second year, in partnership with the Manatee Performing Arts Center in Bradenton, they will be holding “Sunset Classics” concerts in September, November, January, and February. The season kicks off on Sunday, September 24, 2017 at 5:30 PM with “Dreamscapes,” a repertoire of flute and piano expressing landscapes or scenes with the strangeness or mystery characteristic of dreams. The evening includes interactive program notes with the musicians and hauntingly beautiful music.

What we love about this partnership between the Manatee Performance Center and Sarasota Musica Viva, is the approachable atmosphere the Center provides. Performing in the expansive yet intimate foyer allows the audience and the musicians to interact and bring a new awareness and passion for little known pieces,” explains Linda Bento Rei, Artistic Director.

Additional “Sunset Classics”concerts planned for the season are a mixture of the familiar and the unique. Sunday, November 26, 2017 at 5:30 PM, “Divine Inspiration”, a refreshing program of a variety of styles of music for flute and harp.
