SARASOTA, FL November 10, 2015 — a group of 400 plus people assembled for this season’s event of note, National Philanthropy Day, brought to us by AFP (Association of Fundraising Professionals). From dignitaries to visionaries the room was abuzz with energy of those most committed to giving back. This year’s event at Michael’s On East theme was Change the World with a Giving Heart. It was clear from those who were honored that all present are doing that daily throughout Sarasota County. Emcee and incoming AFP (Association of Fundraising Professionals) President Jennifer Vigne presided over the luncheon. CEO, President, and Trustee Alex Quarles said of the luncheon “we at the Healthcare Foundation are honored to be considered again for this prestigious award. It is truly our donors who deserve accolades such as these as without them our mission to support tomorrow’s healthcare today would fall terribly flat.” Alexandra Quarles also said a special word of thanks to our community friends the Suncoast Bloodbank for their nomination. “It is such a pleasure to know and work with incredible organizations such as SCBB on a daily basis as they play a key role in the big picture of healthcare”.

AFP’s National Philanthropy luncheon a time honored tradition of honoring those who give so much to the greater Sarasota Community.
