Sarasota Film Festival Partners with Booker High Students for World Premiere
#DIVERSITYSRQ… a social experiment to premiere April 5th
SARASOTA, Fla., [Feb. 19, 2016] — The Sarasota Film Festival (SFF) is proud to announce that it will be making its second annual world premiere in partnership with SFF Education and the Booker High Film Academy with the student-produced #DIVERSITYSRQ… a social experiment. The debut will take place as part of the Festival’s scheduled programming in the Regal Hollywood 20, on Tuesday, April 5th, 2016 at 7pm, and will feature several student short films and the Booker High School Gospel Choir in addition to the aforementioned premiere event.
#DIVERSITYSRQ… a social experiment, directed by SFF Education Director Joshua Jacobson, explores the red-threads between African American and Jewish cultural identities in the Sarasota community. This feature-length production was fully written, shot, and edited as a collaborative effort between Booker High Film Academy students, Jacobson, and Student Advisor Charles E. Williams.
Net proceeds from this event will be donated to support SFF Outreach and Education, and keeping programs like this one free for students.
