Eileen Cameron is a noted author of books for young readers including Canyon, G is for the Garden State, and her newest release, Rupert’s Parchment, Story of Magna Carta. She earned an MPA at NYU and has served on numerous historical preservation boards, including the Lifeguard Board at George Washington’s Mount Vernon. Cameron is currently a trustee of the Washington Association of New Jersey. She studied writing for children at numerous institutions including the New School and divides her time between Florida and a green New Jersey valley near historic Washington’s Headquarters.
Cameron‘s G is for the Garden State was chosen by the Official NJ 350th Anniversary Committee in 2014 as one of 101 Books of New Jersey, and was noted by the NJ Library Association’s One Book New Jersey in 2014 as the selection for Children’s Book Category for the 350th Anniversary of NJ. Her other title, Canyon, won the 2002 Bank Street College award for One of the Best Non-fiction Books of the Year and was a nominee for the Bee Hive Award in Utah.
