QUILTS FOR MIGRANT CHILDREN

On Sunday, November 10, 2103, as you entered the Narthex of Roser Community Church you saw a display of the handmade quilts, layettes, clothes and more, made by the Roser Sewing Ladies for migrant workers. These items were dedicated during the service and distributed to Migrant families, as needed, after the Church Women United Migrant Tea on Friday, November 15 at Manatee United Methodist Church.

We recently received a big (literally 11×17 folded in half) thank you card made by the children and a framed 8×10 photograph from the McNeal Elementary Migrant Pre-K and their amazing teachers. The cover of the card was a rendering of a quilt with note from the teachers and signatures of the children inside. A huge thanks goes to the Roser Sewing Ladies and the community for supporting this project.

I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of contentment in every situation, whether it be a full stomach or hunger, plenty or want; for I can do everything God asks me to with the help of Christ who gives me the strength and power. Philippians 4:12-13 (NIV)
