Roser Community Church welcomes Joy Chatzistamatis to the platform on Sunday, August 31 at 10:00 AM.
Joy Chatzistamatis began violin lessons at the age of three. She won the 2011 and 2013 Sarasota Orchestra’s Edward and Ida Wilkof Young Artists Concerto Competition, and the 2011 AMICCO (Anna Maria Island Concert Chorus & Orchestra) Young Artists Solo Competition. Joy has played with the Sarasota Youth Orchestra Program for seven years and served as Concertmaster of the Youth Philharmonic. Joy has attended the Flaine International Music Academy in France with her teacher, Lena Cambis, Director of the Sarasota Music Academy. She is a frequent soloist at her church, Fellowship Baptist Church. Joy is a twelfth grade homeschooler and plans to major in music performance. Joy now performs with the Venice Orchestra and the Anna Maria Island Orchestra.
During the service Joy, accompanied by her brother David on the piano, will perform The Way of the Cross which was so well received last year as well as a medley titled A Living Sacrifice. For the prelude David will play an arrangement of It Is Well and Moonlight Sonata.
The community is invited to join us for worship at 10:00 AM on Sunday, August 31 to hear and support these outstanding young musicians. Bring the whole family… children will be dismissed after the Children’s Message for their own special program.

I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of contentment in every situation, whether it be a full stomach or hunger, plenty or want; for I can do everything God asks me to with the help of Christ who gives me the strength and power. Philippians 4:12-13 (NIV)
