ROCK THE EARTH ADVOCATES CLIMATE CHANGE AWARENESS
AT BONNAROO 2015

Nonprofit Screens Environmental Films, Hosts Interviews and Performances, Conducts Postcard Campaign Sending Message to the White House

MANCHESTER, TN – June 9, 2015 – Rock the Earth, a national nonprofit environmental organization that partners with the music industry, today announced it will work to educate and activate festival goers around climate change at the 2015 Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival this week. Green Screens Presented by Rock the Earth will screen thought-provoking environmental documentaries After The Spill  and Merchants of Doubt.  In addition, Rock the Earth will conduct interviews and stage performances with artists through its Social Change Through Music series on the Solar Stage.

“In our eleventh year of activating the Bonnaroo audience, we continue to expand and innovate our approach to getting fans involved in the most critical environmental issue of our time – climate change,” said Marc Ross, executive director and founder of Rock the Earth.

Sending a Message to the White House
Rock the Earth, along with the Sierra Club Tennessee, will be sponsoring the official Bonnaroo postcard campaign calling on President Obama and the US delegation to the UN Climate Summit in Paris this December to lead the world and forge an aggressive agreement to reduce greenhouse gasses and address climate change.  Rock the Earth’s goal is to have 10,000 attendees of Bonnaroo sign the postcard.

In addition, Rock the Earth will be hosting a Bonnaroo photo booth in collaboration with Merchants of Doubt and Participant Media throughout the festival weekend in the Rock the Earth booth in Planet Roo.  Rock the Earth encourages music fans to stop by, take a stand to combat climate change, and take home a souvenir photo!
