Los Angeles, CA– March 20, 2015 – Rock in Rio, the legendary music festival celebrating its 30th anniversary worldwide, announced today that it has formed a long-term exclusive relationship with FansTang, a China-focused cross-platform media and analytics company.   FansTang will stream every ROCK IN RIO festival (USA, Brazil and Portugal editions presented within the agreement) in mainland China through 2021.  Thanks to this new collaboration, music fans in China will enjoy live-streamed performances by global super stars including Taylor Swift, Linkin Park, Bruno Mars, No Doubt, Mana, Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, Big Sean and Metallica.

Custom video packages produced by FansTang will give Chinese fans watching via streaming media a taste of the festival’s custom-built 40 acre location, The City of Rock in Las Vegas.  Fans will also enjoy watching performances and sponsor activities taking place across three Rock Streets – themed streets that will give viewers unique cultural and entertainment experiences.

The Rock in Rio USA concert stream and custom video packages will also feature Chinese and global sponsor brand messages.  Sponsorship packages associated with the FansTang concert stream delivered in China will be sold and managed exclusively by FansTang. This agreement is also a first step into a possible expansion into the Asian market, as Rock in Rio continues to expand in the future.

To help push out the news about Rock in Rio USA concert streaming program offered in China, the Rock in Rio festival team and FansTang will conduct an advertising campaign to promote the first festival, Rock in Rio USA that takes place in May, 2015.  The targeted ad campaign will appeal to Chinese music fans in the People’s Republic of China. The Rock in Rio USA Concert weekends streamed by FansTang will be available for Chinese music fans to enjoy on China Standard Time May 9-10 and 16-17.

Rock in Rio USA: Complete Lineup

Rock in Rio will take over Las Vegas on May 8-9, 15-16. The first weekend, dedicated to rock music, will feature No Doubt, Metallica, Linkin Park, Maná, The Pretty Reckless, and Hollywood Undead on the Main Stage. Sunset Stage performers for the first weekend include Foster the People, Deftones, Sepultura (featuring Steve Vai), Gary Clark Jr, Bleachers, Coheed and Cambria, Saints of Valory, Smallpools and Of Mice & Men.

The second weekend, May 15-16, will feature a pop-centric lineup with the Main Stage welcoming Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars, Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, Echosmith, Empire of the Sun and Ivete Sangalo. The Sunset Stage lineup for the second weekend includes Jessie J, John Legend, Charli XCX, Joss Stone, Tove Lo, Magic, James Bay, Mikky Ekko and Big Sean.

The City of Rock, a permanent 40 acre open-air concert venue, is located on The Strip in Las Vegas. With a capacity of 85,000 people per day, the venue will also include a ferris wheel and a 64 foot high zip line that stretches 600 feet across in front of the Main Stage, which is 262 feet long. The venue also includes a VIP area that can accommodate up to 4,000 people, featuring air conditioning, an all-inclusive buffet, an open bar (certain premium liquors available for additional purchase) and a unique view of the City of Rock.
