Pro Musicis Searches for Artists Who Share Vision of Giving Back through the Power of Music

SAN ANTONIO (August 11, 2016) –
Pro Musicis, a non-profit organization committed to giving young concert musicians opportunities for growth, and transforming society through music, is currently accepting applications for the 2016 Pro Musicis International Award. Cellists and pianists, who reside in the United States and are between the ages of 20 and 35 years old, are eligible for this award. Applications are due on or before August 17, 2016.

The recipient of the 2016 Pro Musicis International Award will receive membership into the family of Pro Musicis International Award winners, a debut concert in Weill Hall at New York City’s Carnegie Hall, and a grant for the musician’s social outreach project proposal in addition to mentoring services, additional performance opportunities in association with Yamaha Artist Services New York, a state of the art recording opportunity with Yamaha Artist Services New York, and six hours of professional consultation in career development, media relations, and/or artist management.

“Finding a new International Award recipient is always an exciting time for Pro Musicis,” said John Haag, Executive Director of Pro Musicis. “We know there’s so much talent just waiting to be discovered, and we’re ready for new ideas and new opportunities to give back through the healing power of music.”

All eligibility requirements are listed on the Pro Musicis website and include the completed written application, a 45-50 minute video of a live performance (or several compiled performances), a current curriculum vitae, a professional biography, two letters of recommendation, a video interview, and a proposal for a  community service project.
