MOLLY HATCHET TO HEADLINE AT PORT HURON OFFSHORES

(Port Huron-June 24, 2014) The Port Huron International OPA Offshore Powerboat Race is pleased to announce that multi-platinum classic rock legends MOLLY HATCHET will headline this year’s 4th Annual Race Appreciation Party in the Desmond District along the Black River on Friday August 8th.

A major international festival should feature internationally known entertainment,” says Event Coordinator LeeAnn Baker. “That’s exactly what the thousands of fans who attend

the party can expect to experience!

Molly Hatchet boasts truly global credentials having headlined concerts throughout the world. Their musical style is universally described as “southern rock.” That label – while accurate – doesn’t tell the full story. Molly Hatchet concerts typically blend blues and country songs into a mix designed to appeal to a wide range of tastes. This diversity is rooted in the group’s experiences on tour with musicians such as Bob Seger, Aerosmith and the Rolling Stones – world-class talent representing a variety of styles.

No matter how you choose to describe Molly Hatchet’s music, the key fact is that audiences around the world love it,” continues Baker. “People turn out by the thousands for their concerts and buy their music, literally, by the millions!

On Friday August 8th, a truly international audience will get the opportunity to hear and see why, when the band performs their many classic hits including Whiskey Man, Dreams I’ll Never See and, of course their multi-platinum Flirtin with Disaster.

The Desmond District opens at 6pm. Local favorites Big Pappa & the Machine get the party started at 6:30pm. This all-ages concert is presented free of charge. VIP seating and a “Meet & Greet” with the band are available for purchase. Proceeds will benefit Autism Speaks. For further details, contact 810-987-8687 or visit www.Bluewater.org.
