Poland’s largest music spectacle is celebrating its 15th year in style with its strongest line-up since its inception in 2001. Open’er takes place at Gdynia-Kosakowo Airport just outside of the scenic coastal town of Gdynia from Wednesday 29th June – Saturday 2nd July.

Years and Years’ Olly Alexander hailed the crowd at Open’er as “the best crowds we have ever played to” and there is far more besides the music at this eclectic summer festival.

Warsaw’s Museum of Modern Art even decamps to Gdynia this year with a compelling collection entitled ‘140 beats Per Minute’, where mixed media and art showcase the tale 90s rave culture and modern art in Poland.

The movement was pivotal in modern Polish history as an underground scene was rising with the turn of the political system, often voicing the naive, but nonetheless authentic optimism of opening up to the world.

Last year, Open’er was headlined by Drake, Mumford and Sons, The Libertines and Kasabian on a bill that also included Alt-J, A$AP Rocky, Alabama Shakes, Major Lazer, Disclosure, Years & Years, St. Vincent, The Vaccines, The Prodigy and more.
