(Okeechobee, FL) Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival is officially underway, with all available tickets for the inaugural event now completely sold out. Festival organizers have requested no one arrive at the site without a previously purchased wristband. There will be no sales at the gates and anyone looking to purchase a ticket will be turned away. Florida’s biggest ever camping festival, Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival is happening this weekendjust outside Florida’s magnificent Lake Okeechobee.
Recently named by the New York Times as one of the places “Where Music Lovers Should Go In 2016,” Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival boasts an extraordinary multi-genre bill, with more than 130 artists, bands, and DJs from around the globe performing across six signature stages. Headliners include Kendrick Lamar, Mumford & Sons, and Skrillex, alongside a stunning line-up that also features Robert Plant & The Sensational Space Shifters, Bassnectar, Miguel, Odesza, Big Grams (Big Boi & Phantogram), Mac Miller, Daryl Hall & John Oates, Ween, and many more.
Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival will also showcase “PoWoW! A Live Superstar Mashup,” a pair of unprecedented collaborative concerts produced by the creative force behind the world famous Bonnaroo SuperJam. The first “PoWoW!” – set for Saturday at midnight on the “Now” stage – pairs acclaimed GRAMMY Award-winning superstar vocalist Miguel with visionary frontman Win Butler of GRAMMY Award-winning Arcade Fire, leading a genre-busting band of master musicians that include the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame guitarist/singer/producer/songwriter John Oates (of Hall & Oates), rising jazz superstar Kamasi Washington, The Meters’ legendary rhythm section, George Porter, Jr. and Zigaboo Modeliste, Soulive/Lettuce’s Eric Krasno and Neal Evans, world champion DJ and scratchmaster Chris Karns, and the world famous Preservation Hall Jazz Band,
As if that weren’t enough, a second “PoWow!” has just been announced to close Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival. Set to take place on the “Be” stage during Mumford & Sons’ headline performance, the jam will see the British folk rock band joined by such stars as Tom Morello, The Avett Brothers, and the aforementioned Preservation Hall Jazz Band. Additional special guests – both announced and unannounced – will take the stage during both “PoWow” concerts, guaranteeing two unforgettable evenings of surprises, invention. and excitement.
Centrally located at Florida’s Sunshine Grove (12517 NE 91 St Ave, Okeechobee, FL 34972) on over 800 acres of pristine grasslands, clear lakes, and exotic tropical woodlands, Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival will offer a matchless tropical topography for fans from around the world to explore and celebrate. Festival attractions will include all night music, wooded VIP camping areas, and an assortment of spectacular immersive art installations.
