MAKING MUSICAL WAVES:
A culinary and musical gala celebrating Copland House
Copland House’s eagerly-anticipated one-night-only gala sets sail on a remarkable nautical journey via Manhattan’s venerable Oceana (“pristine… gorgeous… classy” – Zagat). The celebrated Ben Pollinger, among the youngest Michelin-starred chefs, will take the helm for a regional and gastronomic American tour, docking in New England, New Orleans, the West Coast, and even south of the border. The internationally-acclaimed Music from Copland House ensemble will serve up musical pairings with those epicurean ports-of-call, as delectably prepared by Charles Ives, Astor Piazzolla, Mark O’Connor, and others. The magical evening celebrates Copland House’s 17 years of fervent support of composers and thrilling concert experiences, musical discoveries, commissions, revivals, and educational adventures.
WHEN:
Sunday, September 20, 5pm
WHERE:
Oceana
120 West 49th Street, New York City
WHY:
Copland House’s sold-out culinary and music galas have been hailed as “perfect” (The New York Observer) and “a triumphant collaboration” (Food and Wine). Previous galas, including those with Daniel Boulud at Daniel, Eric Ripert at Le Bernardin, and Marcus Samuelsson at Red Rooster Harlem, among many others, have been buzzed about widely: “always one of our favorite evenings of the year,” raved Westchester magazine, “this annual Copland House event can be counted upon to uphold the world of original, adventurous music and food, even if other worlds seem to be crumbling around us… unforgettable, heady, and divine.”
Tickets: $500 ($375 tax deductible); sponsorships begin at $625 ($500 tax deductible).
