Los Angeles, CA – December 3, 2018 – Ley Line Entertainment and BriMel announce the definitive documentary on the life and music of iconic producer, songwriter, and singer Brian Wilson.
Director and Co-writer Brent Wilson of HatCreek Films and Rolling Stone Editor Jason Fine craft an intimate, unconventional, and deeply revealing portrait of one of Rock & Roll’s most legendary but least understood icons, exploring The Beach Boys mastermind’s life in music, his struggles with mental illness, and the daily rhythms of his life at home and on the road.
With his longtime friend Jason Fine behind the wheel, Brian takes viewers on an emotional road trip into his past, as they tour Brian’s hometown of Los Angeles and revisit the locations that shaped his remarkable story. With stunning honesty, humor, and pathos, each mile traveled between these two reveals Brian in a way never before seen.
The yet-to-be-titled film contains further insight from a diverse set of musicians that have been profoundly inspired by Brian’s musical legacy, personal struggles and triumphs. These artists include: Bruce Springsteen, Elton John, Jim James, Nick Jonas, Taylor Hawkins, Gustavo Dudamel, Jakob Dylan, and Bob Gaudio among others.
“Brian’s body of work is an indelible part of the musical fabric of past, present and future generations,” says Producer and Financier Tim Headington, “It was an honor to collaborate with Brian and we look forward to sharing the documentary with everyone about such an iconic musical giant.”
The documentary also includes dozens of Brian’s most iconic hits, rare tracks, and never-before-heard demos. Additionally, the film captures new studio sessions of Brian recording music specifically for the film, as well as restored archival material, personal photos from Wilson’s archives and newly shot concert footage.
The film is being Produced by Ley Line Entertainment’s Tim Headington and Theresa Steele. Headington produced such films as The Aviator, Argo, Hugo, and World War Z. A former music industry and advertising executive, Steele was instrumental in overseeing the career development of internationally recognized artists including Britney Spears, NSYNC, Justin Timberlake, and the Backstreet Boys. The film is directed by HatCreek Films’ award-winning producer and director Brent Wilson (Streetlight Harmonies, The Last Reunion: A Gathering of Heroes).
It is being Co-Produced by Wilson’s long time manager and publicist Jean Sievers of Beachwood Entertainment Collective and Executive Produced by Brian and Melinda Wilson of BriMel, and Jason Fine.
