The Revisionist Expands Access through First TodayTix Mobile Lottery in Los Angeles, Offering a Chance to Win $20 Tickets

(Beverly Hills, CA April 1) Tonight marks the West Coast premiere of Jesse Eisenberg’s The Revisionist, the author’s second full-length play that dramatically explores obsession, secrets and the complexities of family, at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts. Robin Larsen directs the new production that opens tonight in the Lovelace Studio Theater through April 17 and features a stellar cast comprised of Tony Award-winning star of August: Osage County Deanna Dunagan, Seamus Mulcahy and Ilia Volok.

Through an exciting partnership with TodayTix, the free mobile app that provides on-demand access to the best priced last-minute theater tickets, The Wallis is now offering Angelenos a chance to enter to win $20 tickets to see The Revisionist through a new mobile lottery. Theatergoers can simply download the TodayTix app in the App Store or Google Play Store to enter the lottery to win tickets to same-day performances of the show for its full run. The entry period begins each day at midnight, and by sharing an entry via Facebook or Twitter, users can double or triple their odds of scoring last-minute seats.

Winners are alerted via push notifications 3-4 hours before the selected performance begins and will be offered the opportunity to purchase either one or two $20 tickets. Tickets can be picked up at the box office of The Wallis. Lottery tickets and seat locations are subject to availability.

About The Revisionist:
Overdue in delivering revisions of his new novel and distracted by city life, David (Mulcahy) plops himself in a cramped apartment in Szczecin, Poland, the home of a distant cousin named Maria (Dunagan). She is a complicated and indomitable figure — a Holocaust survivor who maintains a kind of shrine in her home to her far-off American relatives, many of whom she has met only once or twice. It’s a clash of cultures and generations as their divergent agendas, combined with cultural and culinary differences, lead to a spiky, combative relationship that ultimately questions their ideas of family.

The Revisionist is the second play by the award-winning actor and regular The New Yorker contributor Jesse Eisenberg. The play had its world premiere at the Cherry Lane Theatre in New York in spring 2013, starring Jesse Eisenberg and Vanessa Redgrave and directed by Kip Fagan.

The creative team includes: Tom Buderwitz (Scenic Design), Jocelyn Hublau Parker (Costume Designer), Leigh Allen (Lighting Designer), John Zalewski (Sound Design), Beth Lipari (Casting Director), Elle Aghabala (Production Stage Manager,), Sam Sonenshine (Assistant Director), Christopher Breyer (Dramaturg), Deborah Hartwell (Costume Supervisor) and William Gunther (Properties Supervisor).
