Shows include the hits of Broadway, a performance of Stravinsky’s The Firebird, and the popular IPL Yuletide Celebration

INDIANAPOLIS (April 11, 2016)–The Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra brings back the popular family series symFUNy Sundays presented by Dow AgroSciences starting this October, a chance for children of all ages to enjoy great performances while they giggle, dance and hum along.

Principal Pops Conductor Jack Everly leads the first two installments of the series, which include Cirque de la Symphonie Goes Broadway! and the perennially popular IPL Yuletide Celebration. In January, the Enchantment Theatre Company will perform Stravinsky’s The Firebird, and Associate Conductor Vince Lee will conduct Music Makers, a show that explores music, musicians and their instruments, in April 2017.

All symFUNy Sundays are matinee performances that feature engaging music and interactive entertainment at family-friendly prices. The concerts are recommended for ages 4 through 12. During symFUNy Sundays, families are encouraged to take part in pre-concert activities in the lobby and meet the artists after each performance.

Season subscriptions go on sale Monday, April 11, through www.IndianapolisSymphony.org. Patrons will receive a free child subscription with each paid adult subscription and families with two or more paid adult subscriptions will receive a voucher for a pair of complimentary adult tickets to a Lilly Classical Series concert.
