Due to overwhelming demand, Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra schedules additional Joshua Bell performance Thursday, June 5

INDIANAPOLIS – Because very few tickets remain for the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra’s concert weekend featuring violinist Joshua Bell, the ISO is adding a fourth performance at 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 5, at the Hilbert Circle Theatre. Tickets for this performance are now on sale and can be purchased through the ISO Box Office at (317) 639-4300 or online at www.IndianapolisSymphony.org.

With ISO Music Director Krzysztof Urbański on the podium, the ISO opens the concert with the chamber work that introduces R. Strauss’ beloved opera, Capriccio, featuring the talents of six of the orchestra’s string players led by Concertmaster Zach De Pue. World renowned artist and Hoosier native Joshua Bell then takes center stage for one of the most significant and technically challenging concertos in the violin repertoire – Sibelius’ Violin Concerto in D Minor. After intermission, the Indianapolis Symphony concludes the performance with Dvořák’s bold and expressive Symphony No. 9 (“From the New World”).

Ticket prices range from $20 to $85 each and may be ordered by calling the Hilbert Circle Theatre Box Office at (317) 639-4300, in person, or online by visiting www.IndianapolisSymphony.org. To order by telephone outside of Indianapolis, call toll free (800) 366-8457. A few tickets remain to the other performances at 11 a.m. on June 5 and at 8 p.m. on June 6 and 7.
