Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra launches new concert series in Hendricks County and Greater Greenwood area

Funded by Robert S. and Margot L. Eccles Fund, the ISO’s new 317 Series brings Orchestra’s concerts and programs to communities and schools outside of Indianapolis next season

INDIANAPOLIS – With the goal of bringing its music to even more communities and broadening its reach in central Indiana, the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra is launching its new 317 Series next season in the Hendricks County and the Greater Greenwood area. The ISO will be performing at the Hendricks Regional Health Performing Arts Center at Avon High School on Sept. 28, Jan. 25, Feb. 21 and March 22, and at Center Grove High School on Nov. 2 and June 7. A third concert date in Greenwood has been set for March 1, and a venue will be announced soon.

Funded by a generous grant from the Robert S. and Margot L. Eccles Fund, a charitable fund of Central Indiana Community Foundation, the 317 Series in Hendricks County and Greater Greenwood will include Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra performances of great masterworks by Brahms, Mozart, Ravel and Rimsky-Korsakov, among others, with renowned guest artists. To enhance the concert experience, the ISO is partnering with local schools for music education programs and with community service groups to bring public events, adult education programs and recitals to the area.

“The 317 Series gives us the opportunity to not only perform but to immerse ourselves in areas currently underserved by the ISO,” said Gary Ginstling, Chief Executive Officer of the ISO.  “In order to attract new patrons to orchestral music, we are prepared to send our Orchestra out into the community, to present outstanding concerts at an affordable price, and to connect with people in their own backyards.”

Single tickets to the 317 Series are $20 for adults, $10 for students. Tickets for the performances in Hendricks County are on sale now at www.IndianapolisSymphony.org or through the ISO Box Office at (317) 639-4300. Tickets to concerts in Greenwood will go on sale in August.

The ISO plans to explore expanding the 317 Series to additional locations in coming seasons.
