Live music venue and purveyor of Southern comfort-food, the Blue Rooster (1525 Fourth St., 388-7539), will host their first annual “Pig Pickin’ Porch Party” from 4 p.m. to midnight, Sat., July 5. The event is free and open to the public and will occur alongside local Independence Day celebrations.

The one-night-only Southern style buffet will include unlimited roast pig and all the fixings for just $23.50 for adults and $12 for kids 12 and under

The Callie Chappell Trio will perform from 4 to 7 p.m. inside the Blue Rooster while the pig roast and picnic kick off outside. The Billy Seward Band follow that with an energetic blues/rock show from 9 p.m. to midnight.

As a special incentive, the first 100 guests to purchase a buffet ticket will get their choice of one complimentary PBR or domestic draft beer.

The same weekend as the annual Suncoast Super Boat Grand Prix, the Blue Rooster is just a few blocks from Centennial Park at 10th Street and U.S. 41, where a boat show and bikini contest will take place earlier that day.
