Harvard of the South reveal today their final in-studio performance for “Heart of Stone– the last track revealed from their debut Miracle EP that released April 7th via Slo Lab Records.  Performed and recorded live in Austin,TX and directed by Bongani Mlambi, the in-studio performance is a gorgeously subdued live take of the stellar track.

Composed of Longwave vocalist/guitarist Steve Schiltz and three members of Blue October – Jeremy and Justin Furstenfeld and bassist Matt Noveskey – Harvard of the South traces its beginnings to 2009 when the two groups toured together. With the Miracle EP the band has now kicked this passion project into high gear. The quartet features Steve and Justin taking the lead as dual vocalists, with Steve and Jeremy as the band’s creative driving forces.  The band recorded, edited, and produced the Miracle EP entirely on their own at Jeremy’s home studio.

Praise for Harvard of the South

“For those seeking the rock” – Yahoo! Music

“Their brand of roots-tinged, Elbow-style pop-rock hits more subtly than a good ol’-fashioned  supernatural activity, and that’s due to the expertise of the songmakers.”
 – HitFix

“[All Our Ashes] opens with an instantly catchy guitar riff and builds into a pummeling, driving rhythm, making it the perfect track to set the mood for Miracle.” – Diffuser.fm
