in Closed Sessions as Part of The English Concert American Fellowship
NEW YORK –– Harry Bicket, artistic director of The English Concert, returns to Juilliard to lead a public
master class on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at 4 p.m. in Juilliard’s Paul Hall. Mr. Bicket brings
members of The English Concert to Juilliard for a private coaching day on Friday, October 24, 2014,
where they will work with current students (three string players and one keyboardist). Free tickets to

In addition, several Juilliard Historical Performance graduates will be selected to have coaching sessions
as part of a new initiative, The English Concert American Fellowship
(http://www.englishconcert.co.uk/teca/teca/). Four or five students will be chosen to receive the award
each year. To be selected, the graduates must show exceptional talent and musical growth. As part of
the fellowship, those graduates will have the opportunity to play in select performances with The
English Concert. They may also perform as a stand-alone group.
Harry Bicket is renowned as an opera and concert conductor and is especially noted for his

2007; he became chief conductor of Santa Fe Opera in October 2013. Mr. Bicket’s 2014-15 season
includes guest conducting with Oslo Philharmonic, Orchestra of St Luke’s, Hong Kong Philharmonic, and
Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
Extensive commitments with The English Concert include concert performances of Handel’s Alcina and Hercules at various venues across the globe including the Barbican Centre in London, Théâtre de Champs Elysées in Paris, and Carnegie Hall in NYC. Wigmore Hall (London) performances feature Sarah Connolly, Rosemary Joshua and Rachel Podger, and he directs a Bach program with renowned countertenor Iestyn Davies at Christchurch Spitalfields in London on December 11, 2014.
