GRAMMY® nominated producer and artist Duke Dumont releases the Ocean Drive Remixes EP today via Astralwerks/Blasé Boys Club. The seven-track EP features fresh mixes from Hayden James, Alison Wonderland, Karma Kid, DJ Zinc, Shaun Frank, and Michael Calfan. Available for purchase on iTunes HERE and streaming on Spotify HERE, the Ocean Drive Remixes EPfollows Dumont’s Blasé Boys Club Part 1, the inaugural installment in a series of EPs, which was released on October 2 and is available for purchase HERE.
Both Hayden James and Shaun Frank’s “Ocean Drive” remixes landed in the Top 5 at Hype Machine almost immediately following their debut. Dancing Astronaut states James “allows silky guitar strums and delicate synth trills to make “Ocean Drive” even more digestible in a refreshed, indie-house format,” while Frank “puts a quicker engine under Dumont’s original handiwork driven by pulsating bass plucks and expertly crafted vocal chops to contrive a polished future house remixes.” Rising Aussie star Alison Wonderland’s reworking premiered on This Song Is Sick, who declares Wonderland “heightens the intro’s suspenseful build before unleashing a goliath set of big horns covered in trap snares and hefty bass kicks.” THUMP praised the DJ Zinc mix, affirming Zinc “kicks up the tempo a few notches, readying it for club dancefloors with an appropriately beefed up bassline and chopped up vocals.” The booming Karma Kid remix premiered on Shazam while Michael Calfan’s take premiered with BBC Radio1’s Danny Howard.
“Ocean Drive” is the lead single from Blasé Boys Club Part 1 and has been a permanent fixture on the iTunes singles and top ten of the Shazam Future Hits charts since being unveiled as Annie Mac’s ‘Hottest Record’ at the end of July. The video for “Ocean Drive” has garnered nearly three million views since its debut last month, while the track is a regular play across BBC Radio 1 and Beats 1, demonstrating that its slick and majestic neon-lit pop is a standout proposition indeed. “Ocean Drive” is Duke’s highest charting U.S. Dance Radio record to date, leaping into the coveted Top 5. The track also claimed the titles of #1 Breakout and Hot Shot debut at Billboard’s Dance Club Chart two weeks running.
Duke Dumont’s North American headline tour is currently underway. With a completely sold-out show in Los Angeles under his belt, Duke hits Detroit and Columbus, Ohio this weekend, then moves on to Boston, New York, Washington DC, and Atlanta, finally wrapping the tour in Orlando at the end of the month.
Duke Dumont is a two-time GRAMMY®-nominee for tracks “Need U (100%)” and “I Got U,” both in the category of Best Dance Recording. Duke has racked up 155+ million video views, 100+ streams, and nearly 2 million single sales.
