LOS ANGELES – December 19, 2016 – AXS TV delivers the laughs every Thursday night, as season six of GOTHAM COMEDY LIVE returns on January 19, at 10pE. The weekly series highlights some of the nation’s top stand-up comedians, as emerging talent and established favorites take the stage at the world-famous Gotham Comedy Club in New York City. Each episode of GOTHAM COMEDY LIVE is hosted by a different all-star entertainment personality, kicking off with comedy trailblazers Cheech & Chong in a grand return to their onstage roots, as they introduce the night’s acts and deliver some of their trademark wit.
In addition to Cheech & Chong, season six boasts an impressive roster of guest hosts, including “The Howard Stern Show” Executive Producer Gary Dell’Abate, stepping out from the radio booth in his first appearance as a front man (January 26); as well as master impressionist Frank Caliendo (February 2); beloved funnyman Cedric The Entertainer (February 9); STAR TREK icon William Shatner, in his historic stand-up debut (February 16); veteran funnyman Paul Rodriguez (February 23); comedy queen Fran Drescher (March 2); SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE wunderkind Pete Davidson (March 9); actress and author Sherri Shepherd (March 16); political satirist John Fugelsang (March 23); “Love Goddess” Judy Tenuta (March 30); groundbreaking comedienne Paula Poundstone (April 6); and WILD ‘N OUT star DC Young Fly (April 13).
Leading up to the premiere, the network will present two new “Best Of” specials, starting with BEST OF GOTHAM COMEDY LIVE: SNLumni on Thursday, December 22, at 10pE, featuring side-splitting sets from series standouts such as Gilbert Gottfried, Norm McDonald, Darrell Hammond, Joe Piscopo, Jay Pharoah, Cheri Oteri, Tim Meadows, Jon Lovitz, and more; followed by a BEST OF GOTHAM COMEDY LIVE HOSTED BY JACKIE MARTLING on Thursday, December 29, at 10pE.
