Producing Artistic Director, Richard Hopkins, speaks to the excitement of bringing some of music’s biggest icons to the Gompertz stage stating, “Million Dollar Quartet gives audiences a unique behind –the-scenes look at these legendary musicians – before they were icons. It’s an intimate, imagined look at what they really thought of each other in the privacy of the recording studio.”

This electrifying production gives a variety of music fans something to rock out to. Whether it’s the hip rocking riffs of Elvis, the deep, somber tones of Johnny Cash, the jumping and jolting Jerry Lee Lewis, or the rousing rockabilly rhythm of Carl Perkins, there’s a sound for everyone. According to Hopkins, “Million Dollar Quartet carries a broad appeal for audiences because each of these legendary icons have their own fan clubs. It’s interesting that this show brings them all together into one theatre to experience the myth and magic of what it might have truly been like that night in Sun Studios on
December 4, 1959.“

Set in the “Home of the Blues” and “Birthplace of Rock and Roll,” Memphis, Tennessee, Million Dollar Quartet takes audiences back to the roots of music – and to the beginning careers of four artists who would later make music history.
