“FALL FESTIVAL”

Faith Lutheran Church gets into the fall spirit with this fun-filled, family friendly day featuring food, games, face painting, a petting zoo, a pumpkin patch and a performance by the Bluegrass Banyan Band.

(Sarasota, FL) Faith Lutheran Church celebrates the arrival of fall with its Fall Festival, Saturday, October 17, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., on the church grounds at 7750 Beneva Road, Sarasota. The event, which serves as a fundraiser for the church, is free and open to the public. Food and bake sale offerings will require tickets that are available for purchase at the festival. “This year’s Fall Festival offers a host of activities the entire family can enjoy,” says Lynn Hall, chief operating officer of Faith Lutheran Church. Activities include food, games, face painting, a petting zoo and even a pumpkin patch, with pumpkins available for purchase. Hall adds that the Bluegrass Banyan Band will perform its brand of down-home, toe-tapping, feel-good music from 1 to 2 p.m. “We hope everyone will bring their families, neighbors and friends out to have some fun and salute the arrival of fall, Florida style!”

Faith Lutheran is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2016. According to Hall, the church has planned a series of events and initiatives to mark this milestone, including a fundraising dinner to benefit the church’s Early Learning Center (October 24 at Prestancia); a special music series (TBA); an arts and crafts festival (January 9 on church grounds); a golf tournament (April 30); and a fishing tournament (June 3-4).

“We’re calling this our ‘Step Up’ campaign,” explains Hall, adding that the campaign’s slogan is Restore, Rebuild and Rejoice. “This is a big year for us. We hope to update some of the church’s interior and exterior spaces and expand our programs and community outreach. That’s the purpose behind the campaign’s fundraising drives and special events. Our ultimate goal, of course, is to reenergize the faith community in an atmosphere of fellowship, worship and personal engagement.”
