“Moore, whose early songs found their way into myriad television shows, has also collaborated as a songwriter-for-hire, but in her new solo material she exudes the confidence of the intrepid pop siren, even over production intent on chopping and pitch-shifting every note. She’ll be speaking her piece, and seeking some peace, when her debut EP is released.

Imagem Music, artist and songwriter Molly Moore releases her debut EP Shadow of the Sun today, December, 4, 2015.

Last week, Molly revealed the official video for viral hit “Peace Of My HeartPop On and On raves, “Moore takes her raw lyrical sensibilities and combines them with ear-grabbing hooks and an undeniable indie-POP production. The track feels like the future of POP, combining elements of light and dark, it’s so fresh!” Produced by Griffin Fornell & written by Molly Moore & Brandyn Burnette, “Peace Of My Heart” is the third original track off of Shadow of the Sun.

“Peace Of My Heart” follows her other EP tracks “Natural Disaster” and “Don’t Believe It.” Garnering attention from many online tastemakers, Moore has been slated as “one to watch for.” Both tracks are playing on the in-store playlist at over 4,000 H&M locations around Europe. Currently you can catch an acoustic live video of Moore playing her original song “Don’t Believe It” in every McDonald’s in the Los Angeles area. “Don’t Believe It” was also her first radio spin as an artist on KCSN by Kevin Bronson. In addition, a remix done by Chicago producers Win & Woo of “Natural Disaster” landed the track at #2 on the Hype Machine popular charts for 3 consecutive days & #1 on the remix charts.
This is only the beginning for Molly & the future is looking bright, as quoted by Dan Frazier from Free Bike Valet, “A milestone breakthrough is now inevitable”.
It was this year that Moore has found her voice as an artist. Prior to that, the Los Angeles by way of New York arist was known for collaborating with other artists, songwriters & producers. Moore has had her songs released with Felix Cartal (Dim Mak), Dutch duo DubVision (Spinnin), Dyro & Conro (Hardwell’s Revealed Recordings). Beginning to work on her debut EP & first album, Moore discovered a sound totally unique to her honest style of writing. Collaborating frequently with boyfriend/artist/songwriter Brandyn Burnette (Sony ATV), the two have begun to develop a side project as well as writing for themselves & other artists.
Molly Moore’s love for music has always extended past the surface. As a young kid in Hastings-On-Hudson, NY, she knew her path would be to become both an artist and a songwriter. “I loved pop music so much,” she says. “As soon as I figured out big songs on the radio were written by songwriters, I became obsessed with who wrote what and wanting to write for other people.”
Growing up with a working musician father and “chiropractor mom who sings,” there was no shortage of music around the house. As she became inspired by everything from Simon & Garfunkel and John Mayer to Britney Spears, she simultaneously immersed herself in acting—landing commercials and even a role in The Notorious Bettie Page. Driven by a dynamic voice and impeccable knack for a hook, her music began receiving a bevy of high-profile placements, including Keeping Up With The KardashiansKourtney & Khloe Take MiamiBad Girls ClubReal WorldSaturday Night LiveDance MomsBest Ink, the film Underdogs, and many more.
The title Shadow of the Sun speaks to her journey, balancing writing for other artists and her personal career. “It’s about finding that light inside of you somehow,” she continues. “At the end of the day, we have to look internally to feel motivated and inspired to live the life we want to live.”
Molly delivers an uplifting honesty whether she’s writing for herself or others. “I’d like people to feel empowered when they listen to one of my songs,” she leaves off. “A lot of times, it’s easy to get distracted by life. I want to show that we all go through so much darkness, but the only reason is to get to the light.”
