Electropop artists Broods have collaborated with Microsoft for their latest music video “Heartlines” to produce a new experience for their fans, powered by the Microsoft Band: a device that tracks heart rate, calorie burn, sleep quality, and exercise. During singer Georgia Nott’s performance, the team translated her biodata and energy – as captured by her Microsoft Band – into stunning geometric visuals in the music video. The brother-sister duo wanted to rethink the music video experience and create a deeper, more emotional layer for their second single “HEARTLINES,” co-written with fellow New Zealanders singer-songwriter Lorde and Joel Little.
To celebrate the worldwide premiere of the music video, Capitol Records hosted a special performance and panel session at the Microsoft Venice Lounge in Los Angeles. The intimate invite-only event included a special stripped down performance by Broods and an exclusive look at the Microsoft enabled live show which fans will be able to experience during the band’s upcoming US tour, which kicks off today, August 1, in Washington D.C.

Broods team up with Microsoft to create innovative music video for their single “Heartlines”

(Los Angeles, CA) – August 1, 2016 – Electropop artists Broods (composed of Georgia and brother Caleb Nott) have collaborated with Microsoft for their latest music video “Heartlines” to produce a new experience for their fans, powered by the Microsoft Band. The device tracks heart rate, calorie burn, sleep quality, and exercise. During singer Georgia Nott’s performance, the team translated her biodata and energy – as captured by her Microsoft Band – into stunning geometric visuals in the music video.

The brother-sister duo, who released their second album Conscious on June 24 via Capitol Records, wanted to rethink the music video experience and create a deeper, more emotional layer for their second single “Heartlines”, co-written with fellow New Zealanders singer-songwriter Lorde and Joel Little.

To celebrate the premiere of the music video, Capitol Records hosted a special performance and panel session at the Microsoft Venice Lounge in Los Angeles last night. Attended by leading music editors and industry influencers, the invite-only event included an intimate performance by Broods and an exclusive look at the Microsoft enabled live show which fans will be able to experience during the band’s upcoming US tour, which kicks off on August 1, in Washington D.C.

“As part of the Music x Technology program we’ve been working with artists to push the boundaries of the music experience. The collaboration with Broods was particularly exciting as the band were eager to explore how Microsoft technology could create a more intimate and engaging experience for their fans.” said Amy Sorokas, Strategic Partnerships Director of Microsoft Brand Studios.

This collaboration is the latest in an artist series featured on Music x Technology, an initiative that celebrates forward-thinking artists who are using Microsoft technology to transform the way we create and experience music. With monthly artist collaborations, the program seeks to empower artists with unique opportunities to create one-of-a-kind experiences for their fans.
