Thank you very much for taking the time to read my site. I hope that this site serves your purpose of gathering information.
I attend many performing arts events and I am in awe of the volunteers,
donors and business' that do what they can to support the arts. I wish
I could be among the titans of donations, or become a tireless
volunteer you see at these events.
I wanted to do something to show my sincere appreciation of all the
Arts community does. Therefore, I decided to share my schedule with my
friends and not keep these organizations the best kept secret in
Sarasota. Or, the nation and world for that matter. I am getting views
from all over the planet.
The common factor I discovered between all of the arts organizations is
that they don't know exactly what the other is doing. Sometimes I see
events booked the same day as another event, and I have to choose with
a flip of a coin to choose which one to go to.
I do my best to go to these events, but if I do not, at least someone out there would know that event is happening that day.
This site is not a business. It is more of a fun challenge to me. If
there is an event I am interested in going to, I will let others know.
I am not in competition with any news organization or online arts
community either. We can coexist.
So, if you have an event that other would like to know about, I encourage you to go to the other site, Don411.com Member to post your events.
The site is monitored for content. So please do not put anything up on the site you would be embarrassed about.
No members are allowed to join Don411.com site directly, please go to the site listed above.
I have been asked why I don't put up all my information on this site...
My goal is to provide information from the source. I won't write
commentary of any significance. I just want to enjoy the shows I go to
without worrying how I would tell others about it. I can say with
confidence, all the shows I attend are such high level, negative
commentary is not needed. Do yourself a favor, just go see it, and have
your own opinion. The people that perform at these events are giving
110% effort. It is what it is, at that moment. And to me, that is good
enough. Also, I am just a quite dude that has a small circle of
friends. You might spot me at the events. I want others to focus on the
content, not the person behind it.
Enjoy your shows, and I look forward to reading what events listed by others. Who knows, I may schedule myself to see it :)
